Upon being licensed to practice law in Michigan, John went into private practice as a personal injury lawyer for the next 20 years. In 2005, John started working for the Social Security Administration as a Federal Administration Law Judge where he served until retirement in 2020.
John is survived by his three children; Micaela Faye Dodson, Ella Maureen Dodson, and William Schuyler Dodson; his sister Darcel Hall; and his brother George Dodson.
