Joann (Hildebrandt) McDevitt

January 23, 1932 – July 9, 2022

On the evening of July 9. 2022, Joann (Hildebrandt) McDevitt joined her beloved husband William (Bill/Pops) McDevitt in heaven at the age of 90. Survived by her baby brother Michael Hildebrandt; five loving daughters and two incredible son-in-laws, Karen Evans, Connie (David) Jaskot, Pat (Larry) Watson, Peggy Wright, and Marybeth Ball. Jo/Grams was the #1 fan of her eight grandkids, Michaelene, Danielle (Brad), Cymbre (Marquise), Rebecca, Pete, Chelsea, JJ and Matthew; and could not be prouder of her great grandkids, Gwen, Connor, Marquise Jr., and Kanye.

In her early years, she was the life of the party in her birthplace of St. Bernard, Ohio with her siblings Robert (Jeanette) Hildebrandt, Dorothy (Robert) Fiebig, Katherine Moore, and Michael (Shirley) Hildebrandt along with numerous nieces and nephews for Aunt Jo to love immensely.

After a long career at Sears in Livonia, Michigan, Jo became the most popular Grams in Northville and Novi as the OG Uber Driver, exceptional daycare provider and loudest cheerleader who attended all her active grandkid’s events. Jo also loved Spartan basketball and was, herself, an avid golfer with 2 hole-in-ones throughout the years. More importantly, golf fostered a network of lifelong friendships that lasted after the clubs were put to rest, with the ladies meeting regularly at Tim Hortons. Her legacy will be the loving family unit that will forever cherish her unconditional love and support, instilling in all of us to reach for the stars.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Inn at St. John, 44045 Five Mile Road, Plymouth.
