Jerry L. Imsland
Age 73, longtime resident of Northville, passed away October 20, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 26, 1948; son of Luverne and Engla (Peterson) Imsland. Jerry graduated from Northville High School; Class of 1966 where he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. Following high school, he attended University of Kentucky for a year before transferring to University of Michigan where he played football.
Jerry worked as a union rough carpenter building new residential homes for several different companies over the years. He was a very hard worker and a dedicated father. He supported his children in everything they did. When his boys were younger, he coached them in Northville/Novi Colts Youth Football. Jerry was an avid sports fan and always cheered for U of M football. He enjoyed going to breakfast with “the boys” who were a group of friends that he had for years. Jerry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He adored his children and grandchildren and always supported them in all of their extracurricular activities.
Jerry is survived by his loving children, Brett (Heather) Imsland, Jim (Erin) Imsland, and Lauren (Patrick) Corsi; his grandchildren, Austin, Kennedy, Peyton, Josephine, Connor, Logan, and Ryder; and his sister Judy (Tom) Eaton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Mr. Imsland will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
