Jean Lince

Age 94, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on March 25, 2021. She was born on November 8, 1926 in Belper, England; daughter of Harold and Doris (Barker Jones) Padgett.   Jean emigrated to the United States after meeting Robert Lince during WWII.  They were united in marriage on January 17, 1947; and they spent 56 years devoted to one another as husband and wife until his death in 2003.

Jean worked as an office manager for Town and Country Furniture in Bloomfield Hills for many years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Redford.  Active with the church, Jean served as president of the Episcopal Women’s Club and volunteered for the banquet committee for many years.

Jean was an avid reader and always had a book in hand.  She was a fantastic host and often entertained friends and family for holidays and other special gatherings. Jean was a wonderful friend and enjoyed a good conversation with anyone who was willing.  She took pride in decorating her home and keeping her home clean. Jean adored her Pomeranian, Johnny. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Nana.

Jean is survived by her son Collin (Gail) Lince and her daughter Susan Blais; her grandchildren, Lindsay (fiancé Dustin Roberts) Lince, Kristina (Amanda Nemeth) Lince, Michael (Abby) Lince, Jennifer Jones, and Jessica (Ethan) Jordan; her great grandchildren, Scarlett, Millie, Jane, Tyler, Kyle, and Maddie; and her niece Allison Hodgson; and her great niece Maddie (Alex) Keast.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Lince, her parents, her son-in-law Ron Blais, her brother Collin Padgett, and her sister-in-law Gwen Padgett.
