Jean Angell

June 16, 1936 — October 18, 2024

Jean Angell, age 88, a lifetime resident of Northville, passed away on October 18, 2024. She was born on June 16, 1936 in Northville, Michigan; daughter of Thomas and Helen (Gardner) Campbell. She graduated from Northville High School, class of 1954. Following high school she attended Eastern Michigan University. Jean worked as a school librarian for the Northville Public Schools. She retired from Silver Springs Elementary School in June of 1998.

Jean met the love of her life, John S. Angell, while playing tennis on the clay courts of Hines Drive, where they proved to be the perfect match both on and off the court. They were married on November 24, 1955, and shared a deep devotion to one another for over 59 years until his passing in 2015.

Jean's unwavering faith in God was truly remarkable. For over 60 years, she was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church, where she actively participated by singing in the choir and playing the French horn in the brass ensemble.

Jean was a longtime member of the Plymouth Community Band, where she proudly showcased her talent on the French horn. An active and energetic woman, she loved golfing, playing tennis, and swimming at Schoolcraft. Her friendly nature and warm smile made it easy for her to make friends wherever she went. Above all, Jean was a devoted mother who supported her children through every stage of life. She never missed her son Ron’s athletic achievements whether it was tennis, baseball, football, or hockey. Friday nights often found her, John, and the kids enjoying dinner together at the Daily Drive-In in Plymouth. Jean will be fondly remembered for her kindness and deep devotion to God. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she and John are reunited in Heaven.

Jean is survived by her children, Bonnie (Alan) Piotrowski and Ron (Brenda Jacobs) Angell; her grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Angell, Kyle (Heidi) Piotrowski, and Trevor Angell; and her great grandchildren, Cameron, Kahli, Amya, Kasen, and Zion. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Thomas Campbell and Robert Campbell.
