Janet Jordan Heath-Morgan

Janet Jordan Heath-Morgan, age 88, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on July 27, 2024. She was born on September 14, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Marvin and Ruby (Galvin) Jordan. She was united in marriage to Donald G. Morgan on November 23, 1993; spending over 30 years devoted to their love until his death on June 27, 2024.

Janet graduated from Redford High School in 1953. She then attended Eastern Michigan University, earning a bachelor's degree in education. While raising her young children, she returned to Eastern Michigan University to complete a master's degree in special education. Janet was a special education teacher in various school districts, retiring as a resource teacher from Garden City Schools in 2002. Known for her kindness and dedication, Janet's drive and determination as a single mother raising three children made her an exceptional teacher.

Janet was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Northville for many years. She actively engaged in the church's social activities, such as the dining out club, and served as a Deacon for a long time. Janet had a passion for gardening and was an active member of the Northville Garden Club. She led a healthy and active lifestyle, enjoying activities like bowling, golfing, and cross-country skiing. Janet was a social butterfly, frequently attending Friday night movies with friends and Tuesday night sliders at the Wagon Wheel.

As an animal lover, she treasured the unconditional love her dogs provided over the years.  An avid reader, she particularly enjoyed books by her favorite author, Danielle Steel. Janet will be remembered as a loyal, dedicated, and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, determination, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and warmth will continue to inspire those she left behind.

Janet is survived by her loving children, Kelley (Tim) Faley, Kirsten (Chris) Sullivan, and Frederick “Chipper” (Stacy) Heath, Jr.; her stepchildren, Jeffrey (Alice) Morgan and Judith (Robert) Singer; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Chelsea) Zuk, Kortney Zuk, Matthew (Victoria Martin) Zuk, Jordan (Aery) Sullivan, Joshua Sullivan, Kaitlyn (Jacob) Diaz, Kiley Heath, Madison Heath, Nicholas Morgan, Lindsey Morgan, and Natalie Singer; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Kameron, Kensley, and Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, Arthur Jordan and James Jordan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Northville, 200 East Main Street, Northville.
