James T. Morché, age 82, of Northville, passed away March 11, 2023. He was born on October 22, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Rudolf and Clara (Eggly) Morché. Jim was lovingly devoted to Susan Sendelbach for over 23 years. Jim and Susan spent 15 winters at Anna Maria Island, Florida enjoying the sunshine.
Jim graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan; class of 1958. Following high school, he attended Wayne State University where he completed his undergraduate studies and his Doctorate. Jim was a Forensic Psychologist with the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court, Clinic for Child Study in Detroit. He retired in 2001 after many years of dedication.
Jim was a proud member of the Friends of the Northville Library where he served as a trustee. He also served on the Northville Township Beautification Committee. Jim was a leader with the Northville Newcomers, leading the Dining Light Group. He also organized and headed trips for Single Point at Ward Presbyterian Church in Northville. Jim enjoyed travelling and was an avid reader. When reading became hard, he began listening to audiobooks. While wintering at Anna Maria Island in Florida, Jim was a docent at the Island Museum and served on his church’s board of directors. He enjoyed the simplicity of life. His kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his loving companion Susan Sendelbach; his son Ed (Colleen) Morché; his grandchildren, Connor, Griffin, and Regan; and his siblings, Roseanne, Ron, Wayne, Rudolf “Rudy” II, Dennis, and Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11am in the chapel of Ward Presbyterian Church, 40000 6 Mile Road, Northville, MI 48168. Rev. Richard Bont will officiate the service.
