James R. Honsinger

James R. Honsinger, age 71, longtime resident of Plymouth, passed away December 27, 2018. He was born on October 17, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Dean and Mildred (nee Fritz) Honsinger. James graduated from Northville High School; Class of 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  James was united in marriage to Carol J. Austin on March 1, 1968; they spent 50 years devoted to one another as husband and wife.

James was a life member of VFW Post 4012 in Northville.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed the time he spent at his hunting cabin in the U.P.  He also enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and golfing.  He loved watching baseball and football, he was especially a Tiger baseball fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carol Honsinger; his sons, Michael Honsinger and David Honsinger; his grandsons Joshua, Charles, and Robert; and his siblings Jeff Honsinger, Steven Honsinger, and Marie Honsinger. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
