Hazel M. Raubacher
Age 91, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on January 26, 2023. She was born on June 17, 1931 in Chatsworth, Georgia; daughter of Grover and Addie (Pendley) Terry. Hazel graduated from Murray County High School, class of 1949. Following graduation, she attended business school and began a career as an administrative assistant with Chevrolet in Atlanta. That is where she met the love of her life, John “Jack” Raubacher. They were united in marriage on November 22, 1956, spending over 62 years devoted to each other until John passed away on September 19, 2019.
After marriage, Hazel began the most satisfying and honorable career, a homemaker and eventually a mother. She kept a spotless home and was a great cook. Hazel’s fried chicken would make your mouth water. She was also a fabulous baker, among those favorites were the banana cream pie and chocolate cream pie. Hazel was addicted to chocolate and would indulge daily. Hazel was always dressed to impress even when taking her daily walks. In the summer she enjoyed walking outside and in the winter she would mall-walk at Laurel Park Mall. Hazel kept a meticulous yard and garden; her roses were spectacular.
Family togetherness was a must, especially around the holidays. Traveling to see family in Georgia and California were among the treasured memories. Hazel and Jack also enjoyed traveling to Florida for long vacations and traveled almost everywhere east of the Mississippi. She had a gift of making everyone feel welcome and at home when they were with her. Hazel was a loving, caring, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family unconditionally.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Terry (Mary Beth) Raubacher, Michael (Sondra) Raubacher, and David (Tiffany) Raubacher; her grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Tremblay, Christopher Raubacher, Alana (Jason) Moreno, Evan (Samantha) Raubacher, Shelby Raubacher, and Savannah Raubacher; and her great grandchildren, Luke and Micah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, Robert “R.L.” Terry, Julian Terry, Hughes “H.B.” Terry, Billy Terry, and Grover “G.C.” Terry.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Glen Eden Memorial Park where a private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution would be appreciated to
