George T. Williams (“Terry”), age 79, of Northville, formerly of Livonia, passed away April 6, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan; son of George R. and Anita (Byrne) Williams. He graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia; class of 1963. Following high school, he continued his education at University of Michigan Dearborn where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He later earned a master’s degree in taxation from Walsh College. Terry was united in marriage to Ann M. Buttigieg on June 7, 1991; they spent 32 years devoted to one another as husband and wife.
Terry owned his own small accounting firm in Farmington Hills known as Wisley & Williams. His work was important to him, and he formed many special bonds with clients. Terry retired in 2013 and passed his business onto his stepson, Mark, so he could spend time with family and do the things he enjoyed.
Terry was a film fanatic; his favorite movie was “Dutch”. He was a World War II history buff, and especially liked watching movies and documentaries on the subject. A sports enthusiast and hockey fan, he was always cheering for the Detroit Red Wings. Terry enjoyed the beauty and speed of classic cars. Most of all, he loved to peruse Costco for hours on end and even liked to explore different Costco stores while on vacation. Terry could always find a random thing he may or may not need and enjoyed snacking on the samples as he made his way through the store. His greatest joy came from his family. He was incredibly proud of his stepchildren and loved them dearly. Terry adored his grandchildren and was always up for a game of “chase”. He loved supporting them during their sporting events and extracurricular activities, travelling all over just to make sure he was there. He also had a special place in his heart for his grandpuppy, Milo. Terry leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship and will be missed by all who knew him.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Ann M. Williams; his stepchildren, Michelle (Bruce) Smith and Mark (Rhiannah) Merski; and his grandchildren, Maddox, Landon, Palmer, Chatam, and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents.
