George S. Bak

April 25, 1948 — March 3, 2025

George Bak, of Northville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 3, 2025 at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Marilyn, his daughters Jenna Wolfe (Scott) and Renee Cassata (Mike), and four grandchildren (Noah, Adam, Cecilia, and Addison).

George was born in Belgium, and came to the US with his parents at the age of 3 ½ from France. He attended Wayne State University, and had a long career in advertising, which gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world. He was passionate about his career, but also loved sports (especially coaching his daughters in basketball). He had eclectic tastes - he wore double breasted suits before they were popular, loved all sorts of cars (his Audi TT was one of his favorites), and had a wide range of tastes in music (he listened to everything from opera to the Rolling Stones). He was meticulous in taking care of his flowers… and also in noting grammar mistakes! We will miss him greatly.

George’s life will be remembered at a funeral mass at St. Kenneth in Plymouth on Friday, March 14. Gathering time will begin at 10:30 AM, with a Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers or trees, in honor of George's love of dogs, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Michigan Humane Society.
