Gayle E. Gatteri

November 29, 1955 — February 8, 2024

Gayle E. Gatteri, age 68, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on February 8, 2024. She was born on November 29, 1955 in Garden City, Michigan; daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Marshall) Gatteri. Gayle grew up in Wixom and attended South Lyon High School; class of 1973.

Gayle worked as a waitress at Joseph’s Coney Island in Northville for many years.  She was an incredibly hard worker and always made her regular customers feel special.

Gayle loved getting together with family and playing with all the little kids who adoringly referred to her as “Aunt Baby”.  She kept her home very clean and often had a home improvement project she was working on.  Gayle was a Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed going to games with family and friends.  She also enjoyed watching horse racing on television and listening to Stevie Nicks.  Gayle liked to travel and spent time on Cape Cod whale watching and went on a couple of cruises.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; Gayle will be missed by all who loved her.

Gayle is survived by her loving children, David (Christina) Richardson, Pete Richardson, and Amy (Justin) Richardson; her grandchildren, Roseanne Richardson, CJ (Kelly) Richardson, David Richardson, Cecelia Richardson, Austin Richardson, and Jonas Hay; her great grandchildren, Allie and William; her mother, Margaret Gatteri; her siblings, Jodie Gatteri, Sandra Plave, and Jim (Shirley) Gatteri; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Joe Gatteri, and her nephew TJ Flannery.

Memorial Visitation celebrating Gayle’s life will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from Noon until 3:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
