Gail R. Weir

Gail R. Weir, age 77 of Northville, passed away on November 6, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Woitka) Weir. Gail was united in marriage to Vance R. Witmer on January 7, 1995.

Gail graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in social work. She worked as a Special Agent with the US Department of State. Gail enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She adored dogs of all breeds, but especially her German Shepard's and always had a dog throughout her life. Gail was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Gail is survived by her husband Vance R. Witmer; her children, Ekaterina (Adam Focht) Weir-Witmer and Alexander Weir-Witmer; and her sister Laurie (Kevin) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to your charity of choice.
