Gail Ann Johnson

November 27, 1957 — September 13, 2023

Gail A. Johnson Age 65, longtime resident of Novi, formerly of Detroit and Dearborn Heights, passed away September 13, 2023. She was born on November 27, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Arthur and Helen (Hojnecki) Konczal. She graduated from Annapolis High School in Dearborn, class of 1975. She continued her education at Eastern Michigan University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and accounting. Gail was united in marriage to Paul Johnson on October 25, 1991, they spent 31 years lovingly devoted to one another. Gail worked with her family as the Vice President of Sales for Accuform Printing and Graphics in Detroit. Known as the “Polish Printing Princess,” she had a gift for sales and truly loved what she did. For over 50 years, her hard work as a sales representative was reflected in how much her clients liked and respected her. Gail was a member of Mt Zion Church in Clarkston where she worshiped each Sunday. She felt a connection to the church community, as well as the pastors and could effortlessly relate to the sermons. Gail was formerly a member of Holy Family in Novi. Gail was also a member of the Novi Chamber of Commerce where she served as an ambassador. She was also a member of the Women’s Business Association of Southeast Michigan. Gail loved to shop and was always impeccably dressed. A social butterfly, she enjoyed evenings out and attending events. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to Cher and disco. In her downtime, she liked to watch crime series, horror movies, and true crime shows. Gail also liked to bowl and was a decent bowler in her younger years. Each spring, Gail carefully selected the flowers for her home and planted the gardens with brightly colored assorted flowers. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Gail was an incredibly supportive mom and attended all her kid’s extracurricular activities and sporting events. Celebrating birthdays and Christmas was very important to her and always a reason to get her family together. She loved hosting; always making sure her home was beautifully decorated for the season and spoiled everyone with the best gifts. Gail was a loving wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be missed by all who loved her. Gail is survived by her loving husband, Paul Johnson; her children, Paul Johnson, Spencer Johnson, and Alexis Johnson; her brothers, Jeff (Carol) Konczal and Greg (Michelle) Konczal; her sisters-in-law, Karen (Xico) Gomez, Kelli (Richard Frost) Lewton-Frost, and Shannon Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Michele Konczal.
