Frida K. Lepler

May 19, 1927 — September 4, 2018

Frida K. Lepler was born in Hart Germany on May19,1927.  In 1952 while working at a US Army base in Germany she met her beloved, David Lepler whom she married in November 1953. The two moved to the US in early 1954 and settled in Redford Township in 1956 to raise their daughter, Shirley. Frida took on a part time job in 1964 as a switchboard operator for Sinai Hospital and after a few years it became a full-time job which she loved.  Frida enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and boating.  After retirement she and Dave became race horse owners. They shared this joy together for many years and made many friends in the business. Frida was affectionately called Elfie by Dave and the name caught on with family and friends. Frida was a people person, made friends easily and was loved by many. On September 4, 2018 Frida left this earth to be with her husband Dave. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Lepler Halas, her nephews Larry Taylor, Jeff Lepler, Jack Lepler and her nieces Dorothea Schwarzer, Linda's Kayes, Elana.Victor, Cheryl Taylor, Sherry Lepler, great nieces and nephews, and special friends Patti Mitchell, Sue Gentz, Angie Lindsay, Tom Wicher, Jeannette Bartlett, Fred Meiers, and her Oakmont ladies Norma, June and Eugenie.
