Frank G. Lamanna

Frank G. LaManna, age 74, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away October 15, 2018.  He was born on September 15, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Areste and Helen (nee Shaluka) LaManna.  He was united in marriage to Judith Gutzke on May 2, 1964. Frank and Judy have been married for over 54 years.

Frank was an engineer who began a career in Ohio in 1967. He started with General Motors building tanks. GM brought him to Michigan, then Frank advanced to a job with AMC and then onto Volkswagen where he worked for many years before his career with Chrysler. He retired in 2001 from Chrysler, but he never really did fully retire from automotive and engineering. Very motivated and driven Frank began a welding company that manufactured engineering solutions for the automotive industry.

Frank was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and any opportunity to enjoy a meal with his family and friends.

Frank is survived by his wife Judy LaManna; his children, Dante LaManna, Elizabeth LaManna, Frank (Amy) LaManna, Paul LaManna, and Joe (Julie) LaManna; his sister Lou Barbee; and his grandchildren, Kyle, Kallista, Renee, Anthony, and Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 from Noon until 1pm with a Funeral Mass beginning at 1pm at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the mass.
