Fran Gilmer

Fran Gilmer, age 76, of Farmington Hills, passed away on April 3, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of Harry and Katherine (Reem) Gilmer. Fran moved to Michigan with her family when she was 16 years old. She attended Northville High School with the class of 1967.

Throughout her life, Fran was known for her fun-loving spirit. She experienced many chapters—some filled with challenges—but always maintained a positive outlook. Fran had a natural green thumb and took joy in nurturing her houseplants, delighting in watching them grow and flourish. Creative and crafty, she loved making handmade keepsakes to share with family and friends. Fran also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, Nickel and Dime, who brought her endless companionship and comfort.

Fran is survived by her daughter, Nichole (Tom) Ross; her son George LaRoque; her siblings, Coni Gilmer, Dale (Terry) Morgan, and Drew Gilmer; and her granddaughter, Kaley Ross. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Kroll.
