Emanuel C. Dedes
Age 92, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on April 19, 2022. He was born on May 4, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Constantine and Bessie (Dabrin) Dedes. Emanuel was united in marriage to the love of his life Mary Turnbull on September 3, 1950; devoted to each other for 50 years until her death in 2000.
He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and proudly served his country. Emanuel was a hard-working Tool & Die Maker at Ford Motor Company for 24 years. After leaving Ford he worked as a Blacksmith, mostly using his craft as a Farrier. He also played the drums professionally.
Emanuel loved to listen to Sirius Satellite Radio, his son gave him the gift of listening to music 24/7 it became his passion. He owned a sailboat that had a few voyages on the water but was mostly used for Emanuel’s hobby of fixing and tinkering. He deeply cared for his sons and his immediate family.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Jeanne) Dedes and Malcolm (Camille) Dedes; his grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Michael, Victoria, Marissa, Malcolm, and Gabe; and 8 great grandchildren with another on the way. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, and his granddaughter A.J.
Private family services were held. He was laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Salvation Army , 16130 Northland Drive, Southfield, MI 48075.
