Elsie J. Conley

Age 83, of Northville, formerly a longtime resident of Livonia, passed away on August 6, 2020.  She was born on June 24, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Clifton and Virginia (nee Thompson) Hamilton.  She graduated from Redford Union High School; Class of 1955.  Elsie was united in marriage to Gerald M. Conley on November 15, 1963; they spent loving 40 years devoted to one another until his death in 2004.

Elsie was a devoted homemaker and took wonderful care of her family.  When her children were older, she went to work as a secretary at her husband’s law firm in Plymouth.  She was incredibly supportive of her children and their activities which included watching her son play hockey and her daughter’s swim meets. Elsie travelled extensively throughout the United States with her family in their RV and later with her husband who served as the President of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association and district director of USA hockey.

Elsie is survived by her loving children, Andrew (Nicole Manly) Conley and Elisabeth (Robert) Stringfellow; and her siblings Gary Hamilton, Don Van Ittersum, and Terri (Corey) Gray.  She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
