Elaine M. Hillebrand

Age 94, of Northville, passed away December 28, 2020.  She was born on May 22, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Charles and Irene (nee McGann) Steiner. After graduating from Immaculata High School she continued her education at Marygrove College where she received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Elaine was united in marriage to Eugene J. Hillebrand May 7, 1949; they were married for 50 years until his death in 1999.

Elaine was born and raised in Detroit. She raised her family in Redford Township, moving to Northville in 2009. Elaine was devoted to her faith and was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She was active in the community and events at Allen Terrace and loved playing bingo with her friends and neighbors. She was a terrific and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Elaine is survived by her children, Elaine (Gary) Morrow, Thomas (Sue) Hillebrand, Maureen (Tim) Atkins, and Ann (Ron) Cox; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Hillebrand; her sisters, Shirley Forrest and Mary Lou (Hank) Levine; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Eugene Hillebrand, and her siblings, Vincent Steiner, Rosemary Nagl, Charles Steiner, Thomas Steiner, and Irene Leger.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11am at Our Lady of Victory, 133 Orchard, Northville. Rev. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the mass. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield.
