Douglas F. Atchison

Douglas F. Atchison, age 61, longtime resident of Brighton, passed away on April 28, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1963; son of James and Carlene (Boice) Atchison. He grew up in South Lyon and attended South Lyon High School.

A true jack of all trades, Doug held many roles throughout his life, including working as a mechanic for race cars and installing garage doors. Known for his sharp mind and remarkable ability to fix anything, Doug was endlessly resourceful and hands-on. He found joy in gardening, nurturing vegetables from seed and cultivating vibrant flowers. An avid collector, Doug had an impressive array of guns, knives, minibikes, and fishing poles. He loved the outdoors; whether fishing, hunting, or spending time camping. Doug also had a passion for speed and adventure, enjoying dirt biking and drag racing in his spare time.

Doug is survived by his loving mother, Carlene Atchison; his daughter, Jessica Atchison; his siblings, Annette (Sol) Jaffee and Eric Atchison; his nephews, James and Zachary; his companion, Pam Williams; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Atchison.

Private family services were held.
