Dorothy H. Goloback

Age 92, of Northville, formerly of Livonia and Redford, passed away on August 25, 2020.  She was born on November 1, 1927 in Perth, Ontario, Canada; daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee McLaren) O’Donnell.  She graduated from St. Theresa High School in Detroit; Class of 1945.  She continued her education at University of Detroit where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English.  Dorothy was united in marriage to Joseph D. Goloback on October 17, 1953; they spent 54 years lovingly devoted to one another until his death on August 24, 2008.

Following college, she worked as an elementary school teacher for several years.  Once married, Dorothy stopped teaching to become a homemaker and took wonderful care of her family.  She was recently a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville.  Dorothy was formerly a member of Our Lady of Loretto where she served on the altar society and the Divine Child Circle.  An avid reader, her favorite genre were romance novels.  Dorothy loved her grandchildren and cherished the time they spent together.  She always enjoyed “girls’ day out” with her daughters and granddaughter.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Catherine (James) McMuldroch, Patricia (Dennis) Kropinak, and Daniel (Pamela) Goloback; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Kropinak and Kristin Kropinak.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Mary Goloback, and her parents.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville.  Mrs. Goloback will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.  Those attending the mass will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.  If you are experiencing signs of cold or flu symptoms, please refrain from attending.
