Doris M. Rorabacher, age 92, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on May 13, 2019. She was born on February 6, 1927 in Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter of Norman and Ruby (nee Atkinson) Passow. She was united in marriage to Herbert Rorabacher, Jr. on May 22, 1944. They were devoted to each other for over 63 years until his death on April 15, 2008.
Doris was a wonderful homemaker who always fed her family a well-balanced meal followed by a piece of her amazing apple pie. After raising her family, she chose to go to work at Northville Laboratory to keep busy. Doris was known for making delicious potato salad and apple pie. While at home she enjoyed singing and being with her family. She created beautiful pieces of art using rug hooking skills. She was active, enjoyed walking, and was a member of the TOPS club (take off pounds sensibly). Doris was a very lovable, kind, and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Douglas) Knight, Beverly Suszek, Randy (Noralee Rabaut) Rorabacher, and Dennis (Kim) Rorabacher; 5 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Carolyn Rorabacher, her infant son Scott Rorabacher, her grandson Ben Rorabacher, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
