Donna M. King

Donna Marie King (Crimando)

Age 58, a resident of Midland, previously of Troy, Royal Oak, and Warren, passed away on July 29th. She was born on November 30th, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Vincent James and Dorothy Agnes (Tocco) Crimando. Donna was number 11 of 11 children and was the darling baby of the family. Donna graduated from Cousino High School in Warren, class of 1981. Following high school, she attended Lansing Community College and Oakland University. She graduated in 1988 With a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and Development. Donna later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Langauge Pathology from Central Michigan University. On June 10, 1989 she was united in marriage to Kevin B. King.

Donna was a Customer Service Representative with what is now Verizon Wireless. In 1999 she left the workforce to raise her family. Donna later became a Para-Professional in the Troy and Midland public school systems. Donna worked for many years as the front desk receptionist at the Midland Community Center, where she greeted everyone with a smile and often greeted children with bubbles. She also worked as a Circulation Specialist at the Midland Daily News until the time of her illness in 2017.

Donna was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland for many years. She participated as a religious education teacher, a Pastoral Care Associate, and a cherished member of the choir. Everyone who knew Donna, knew that she loved to sing and she did so beautifully. She was crazy about Zumba, bicycling, and loved to swim. Donna also loved to pass the time with family and friends playing a good game of ten thousand or Skip-Bo. She is a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who loved her.

Donna is survived by her husband Kevin; her children, Avery King and Chloe King; and her siblings, Bill (Liz) Crimando, Lynn Crimando, Ellen (Joe) Sorrento, Chris (Jim) Livermore, Michelle (Brian) Dotterer, Jim (Jill) Crimando, Marty Crimando, Rosie (Clay) Tinham, and Julie (John) McCormick. She was also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Fran Herrick.

A memorial service will be held in the near future at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland.
