Donald H. Mosser

Donald H. Mosser, age 83, longtime resident of Plymouth, passed away June 4, 2019.  He was born August 24, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Fred and Margaret (nee Miller) Mosser.  He was united in marriage to Lillian G. Hodge on October 17, 1970; they spent 33 loving years together until her death October 6, 2004.

Donald worked as a salesman selling appliances with Consumers Energy for many years.  He retired from Water Improvement Techniques at age 62 and later went back to work for Ameritech for a few years.  Donald was an avid golfer and played whenever he could.  He enjoyed spending time in his yard and keeping it well-manicured.  He was very opinionated and liked to share those opinions with others.  Donald often went out to eat with friends at his favorite restaurants around town.  He loved his family and referred to himself as “almost dad” to his stepchildren, never liking the word step.

Donald was “almost dad” to Cynthia (John) Stone and James (Christine) Biddle; brother of Gayle Williams, Marilyn (Larry) Manspeaker, Margaret (David) Gilbert, Fred (Jeanna) Mosser, Christine (Victor) Cassinski, and Michael (Karen) Mosser; grandfather of Kevin Stone, Shawn Howitson, Amy Hagen, Abby (Mike) Flack, and Andrew (Beth) Biddle; great grandfather of Alex, Tova, Baden, Ethan, Lilly, Christian, and Josh. Also loved by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mosser, his parents, and his brothers Daryl Mosser and Carl Mosser.

The visitation will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  Rev. Douglas W. Vernon from First United Methodist Church of Northville will officiate the service.  Mr. Mosser will be laid to rest next to his wife at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
