In Loving Memory of “Denny” Dennis Wayne Davis

"Denny" Dennis Wayne Davis, born on March 28, 1960, in Longview, WA, left this world peacefully at his home in Northville, Michigan, on July 29, 2023, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Denny's departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Denny possessed an unparalleled sense of humor and a sparkle in his eye that could light up any room he entered. His exceptional storytelling and quick wit were a constant source of laughter and joy, making him the life of every party. His zest for life was boundless, and he radiated energy and positivity. Denny was not only funny, but intelligent and sensitive. He was known for his generosity, kindness and selflessness for his family and loved ones. Also, he was never seen without his trademark mustache. He enjoyed golf, basketball, nice cars, and home renovating.

Denny was the fifth child of Bernard and Sylvia Davis, born in Longview, Washington. His family relocated to Soldotna, AK, when he was one year old. He graduated from Kenai Central High School and, eventually, Denny found his calling as an electrician, thanks to the encouragement of his cousin, Ed Erickson. He enrolled in Udelhoven Oilfield Services' first electrician apprentice program, becoming the program's first apprentice to earn his Journeyman Electrician's card at the young age of 25. Denny went on to have a successful career in the petroleum industry, working for Udelhoven for 8 years, Unocal for 16 years, BP Exploration for 20 years, and Hilcorp for 2 years. He took great pride in his work and considered his coworkers as part of his extended family.

Denny married the love of his life, Karen, on September 24, 1982, they raised three children in Soldotna, AK. In 2001, they moved to Anchorage, AK, and in 2022, they relocated to Northville, Michigan, in anticipation of a well-deserved retirement that Denny, unfortunately, did not have the chance to enjoy. Family was everything to Denny, and he was a devoted father and husband. He is remembered for his love, sound advice and hilarious one liners to make us laugh in the toughest of times. He taught us to not take life too seriously and to always keep moving forward.

Denny is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, his children, Raymond Davis, Crystal Davis, and Sylvia (Nathan) Kurzmann, and his four grandchildren. He is also fondly remembered by his surviving siblings, Gary, Marilyn, Muggs, Jay, and Kevin. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Sylvia Davis, and his sister Maxine Pohland.

Denny's legacy of laughter, kindness, and dedication to family and friends will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Denny's memory.

Rest in peace, Denny, your spirit lives on in all of us.
