Dennis H. Bryant
Age 79, of Livonia, formerly of Redford, passed away July 9, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan; son of William and Florence (Derby) Bryant. He graduated from Thurston High School; Class of 1961. He was then drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He served as a guard for missiles on a German air base and later attended University of Maryland while still enlisted. He was united in marriage to Darlene F. Socolovitch on September 27, 1969; they spent 52 years devoted to one another.
Dennis began his career in manufacturing working as a cold header operator and machinist. He retired in 2008 as a tool and die maker after 25 years in the industry. Dennis was a true family man. His life revolved around his children and grandchildren, he loved spending time with them. Although he was very humble, Dennis was a fantastic storyteller who loved to talk. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be missed by all who loved him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Bryant; his children, Kevin (Gary Roberts) Bryant, Stacey (Dave) Dogonski, and Mark (Gina) Bryant; his grandchildren, Makenna (Neil Fenner) Dogonski, Ean Dogonski, Jude Bryant, and Owen Bryant; his sisters, Judy Geierman, Betty Ann Turner, and Lori Paillon. Also loved by many nieces and nephews and Becky LePere. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, William Bryant, Victor Bryant, Robert Bryant, and Tom Bryant.
The Visitation will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Mr. Bryant will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
