David G. Seitz
Age 84, longtime resident of South Lyon, passed away December 14, 2021. He was born on February 19, 1937 in Highland Park, Michigan; son of George and Olive (Rockey) Seitz. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Gail L. Werner Griffin on May 16, 1986; they spent 35 loving years devoted to one another as husband and wife.
David drove truck all of his life; he began his career as a long-haul driver. For most of his career he worked for Clawson Cement, retiring after 30 years with the company. David was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in a league with his wife. He was a history buff and especially liked WWII documentaries and movies. He also liked to watch action movies. David preferred to spend time at home and cherished visits from his daughter Cindy.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Seitz; his children, Scott (June) Seitz and Cynthia (Walter, III) Timoschuk; his step-daughter, Lisa Kellogg; his sister Joan Stone; his grandchildren, Walter Timoschuk IV, Phillip (Amanda) Timoschuk, Julie (Joel) Silva, Daryll Seitz, Kyle Seitz, Cody Pitcher, and Katelyn Pitcher; and his great grandchildren, Phillip, Jr., Jaylynn, Gabriel, Lorelie, Mitchell, Adela, and Genevieve. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter Laura Griffin, his parents, and his sister Judy Berning.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon with a funeral service at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Pastor Benjamin Deitrick from Shekinah Church in Ann Arbor will officiate the service. Immediately following the service military honors will be rendered by the Air Force. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
