Cynthia Robin King

February 8, 1953 — May 27, 2022

Cynthia Robin King

Age 69, of Plymouth, formerly a longtime resident of Northville, passed away May 27, 2022. She was born on February 8, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Donald and Margret (Armstrong) Jones. She attended Northville High School; Class of 1971.  Robin was united in marriage to Ronald King on April 8, 2014; although they were married for only 8 years, they had been lovingly committed to one another for nearly 20 years.

Robin met her husband while working as a video tape operator for Technicolor.  Most recently she worked at Kohl’s in Northville, retiring in 2019 after many years with the company.  Her most rewarding job, however, was that of homemaker.  Robin was a devoted mother and proud grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and cherished the time they spent together.  She was very supportive of all their accomplishments and although she often preferred to be at home, Robin never said no to her grandchildren and attended all their extracurricular activities.  She loved the holidays, especially hosting Christmas each year.  Robin made the holiday beautiful with decorations, but the extra things she did to cater to each person in her family always made it extra special.  A wonderful baker, she was known for her Christmas cookie platters that included multiple types of cookies.  Robin enjoyed gardening and took great pride in the spectacular rock garden she had.  Filled with both perennials and annuals, the garden included multiple variations of peonies and large boulders with cascading flowers that people would often stop to admire.  She also enjoyed crocheting, especially blankets which she gifted to each grandchild. Robin was very caring; she had a forgiving spirit and would always give second chances.  She was the heart of her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Robin is survived by her loving husband, Ronald King; her daughters, Amy (David) Bush and Julie (Arron) Hirkey; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Kathryn, Allison, and Jack; and 4 siblings.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sibling.
