Constance L. Barnes

Constance L. Barnes, age 94, of Howell, passed away on December 15, 2018. She was born January 12, 1924 in London, England; daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (nee Baily) Rose. Connie came to America as a war bride in 1946. She proudly became a United States citizen in 1959 and lived most of her life in Northville, Farmington, and Howell. Connie began her career as a Court Clerk at Northville City Hall for the JP Court System; transitioning and growing with the court until she retired in 1972 from a career with the 35 ^th District Court.

Connie enjoyed dancing, swimming, bicycle riding, music, bowling and golfing. Most importantly she was very active with the community and her church. Volunteering her time and energy to those in need at Holy Trinity Chapel in Ypsilanti, MI and Shephard of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Walled Lake, MI. Connie loved to travel home to England to be with her family and making her yearly trips to Northern Michigan and Pennsylvania with her best friend and partner in life Joanne. Connie and Joanne have shared unconditional love for 54 years.

She is survived by Joanne Keys; Jeanne and James Parzuchowski, Alice and Dennis Peters, Jason and Shauna Parzuchowski, Dylan Parzuchowski, Allison and Joe Bieszki, Gavin Bieszki, Audrey and Derek Cousino, Callie and Cam Cousino, Karl Rose and his mother Marian Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kevin Barnes, and her brother Arthur Rose.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from Noon until 2pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville, MI 48167.
