Christopher G. Lindow, Sr., age 56, of Milford, formerly of Novi, passed away unexpectantly on December 17, 2024. He was born on June 29, 1968 in Livonia, Michigan; son of Gerald Lindow and Julie (Fetterly) Lindow. Chris, as he was known to family and friends, was a proud graduate of Novi High School, Class of 1987, and began building his career with a certification in CNC Lathe operation while still in school.
After graduation, he worked as a dedicated CNC operator for a decade. Later, Chris transitioned to a role with ABC Supply Co., where he initially served as a truck driver, handling local deliveries and pickups. More recently, he took on responsibilities in the company’s yard, assisting customers, fulfilling orders, and stocking supplies. Chris was known for his incredible work ethic and was deeply respected and well-liked by his coworkers.
Chris was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Family meant everything to him. He adored his children and lovingly raised his stepchildren as his own. As a parent, Chris was patient, understanding, and deeply respectful, always ready to step in when needed. Becoming a grandfather was one of his greatest joys, and he doted on his grandchildren. Chris’ friendships were genuine and enduring. Those lucky enough to receive one of his bear hugs knew they were wrapped in love. With his infectious sense of humor and a touch of cheekiness, Chris was always fun to be around, though he also had a quieter, reflective side.
Second, only to his love for family was Chris’ fascination with tigers, particularly white tigers. His home was like a safari, every inch adorned with tiger imagery, from pictures, bedding, figurines, blankets, and even his clothing showcasing his favorite animal. Chris was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering for Detroit’s hometown teams. He had a passion for electronics, from his stereo system to racing games on his PlayStation. A jack of all trades, he could fix nearly anything, especially his beloved Ford Escape, which he maintained with great care. A man with a sweet tooth, Chris loved indulging in a cold Mountain Dew and candy of all kinds. Despite being a picky eater, he wasn’t afraid to try new foods, though mac and cheese remained a favorite. He enjoyed annual trips to the Renaissance Festival and spent weekends exploring flea markets, hunting for antiques and katanas. Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chris is survived by his loving fiancée, Angela Gawlowski; his children, Victoria (JJ Triick) Lindow, Christopher J. Lindow, Jr., Tess Mycek, Kayla Boyle, Christian Boyer, Prince Gawlowski, and Eve Gawlowski; his grandchildren, Justin, Sophie, Andre, Olivia, Lilly, Andy, Acacia and Athena; his great grandchild on the way, Fernando; his parents, Gerald Lindow and Julie Lindow; his sister Reneé (Brian) Kewak; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Michael Lindow.
A Time of Gathering will be held Saturday, January 18, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. The family kindly requests that everyone wear their favorite Tiger apparel—whether featuring the majestic animal or the Detroit Tigers sports team—to honor Chris and his love for tigers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the GoFundMe/Remembering Chris Lindow set up for the family.
