Christina Lynn (Hagerman) Kendra
March 11, 1964 - June 1, 2022
Christina “Chris” Lynn Kendra (58) of Northville, Michigan passed on June 1, 2022 at home with her husband after a brief battle with cancer.
Chris was born on March 11, 1964 in Richmond, Virginia to Edward and Dede Hagerman (both deceased). She graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School in 1982. Chris married her husband Gary Kendra in 1987 and they and their two boys had 35 wonderful years together.
Chris was an office assistant at the Medical Clinic of Northville for many years before joining her husband’s law practice as the full time office administrator. Chris was known for her organizational skills, follow-thru, and ability to bring order to chaos. She also helped support and operate the Links at Hunters Ridge Golf Course which she and her husband co-own with friends, along with an AirBnB farmhouse next to the course.
Chris was a true animal lover. She loved her Rag Doll cats, her Golden Retriever Arnie, and her African Grey parrot Aries, who would repeat words and phrases that always made her smile. She was an expert in caring for animals and shared her knowledge with friends when their animals needed attention.
Chris enjoyed bowling, quilting, golf and traveling with her husband and family. Club Keno was a fun pass time for Chris and she won more than she lost always sticking with her lucky numbers 11-23 and 24-79.
Chris is survived by her loving husband Gary, her children Alex Kendra and his wife Rayana of Barcelona, Spain and Dr. Zachary Kendra of Royal Oak, Michigan. She is also survived by her brothers John [Barney] (wife Cathy) Boyle and Scott (wife Alicia) Hagerman and many family members who she dearly loved.
Chris taught us to love our neighbors regardless of our differences; to always think of others; and how to be a rock and a loyal and faithful person. She was an inspiration to friends and family in her silence, patience, service, love and dedication. A guiding light, a fun and comforting presence and a voice of reason and understanding. Even in confronting death she showed great courage and a concern for others. Chris left us a legacy of kindness and goodwill that we will always cherish.
At Chris’ request, a celebration of life will be held in lieu of a funeral later in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the
