Charles "CAP" Ambrose Pfeffer, age 78, longtime resident of Novi, passed away October 18, 2023. He was born on August 18, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Elisabeth (Smith) Pfeffer. Charly began dating the love of his life, Pamela Down, on May 16, 1974 and they were united in marriage on May 16, 1981.
Charly graduated from Austin Catholic Preparatory School in Detroit, Michigan, class of 1963, and recently attended his 60th class reunion. He earned a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University in Ohio, attending on a basketball scholarship. Charles continued his education at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. Before his final year of law school, Charly was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he completed his law degree at Wayne State.
Charles worked as the house counsel for AAA Michigan for 32 years before retiring on March 30, 2006.
In his younger years, Charly liked to play softball and basketball and still enjoyed playing well into adulthood. His favorite type of day was spent relaxing at the home he and Pam shared on Lake Huron, enjoying the views and boating.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Down; his sister Elisabeth (Richard) Kehoe; and his brother, Ted (Barbara) Pfeffer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services were held.
