Charles "Dan" Beetler

August 8, 1930 — December 23, 2020

Charles “Dan” Beetler, age 90, longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020. He was born August 8, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio; son of Charles A. and Mildred (nee D’autremont) Beetler.  Following high school, he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United State Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Panama. Dan was united in marriage to Sybil L. Jessee on November 20, 1965; they spent 50 years devoted to one another until her death on February 15, 2016.

Dan worked as a sales manager for Urbans Partitions and Remodeling in Northville for over 40 years before retiring in 2013 at the age of 82.  He was an active member of Northville Christian Assembly.  Sharing his faith and spreading the word of God was a large part of Dan’s life.  He served as a Stephen Minister, Elder, and Usher at church, as well as lead many bible studies throughout the years.   He was a member of the Michigan Chapter of Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association where he served as President for several years.  Dan even taught himself to play the guitar so he could lead worship songs with those around him.

Dan loved to spend time in East Tawas and sailing on Lake Huron.  An avid golfer, his favorite courses in the area were Salem Hills and Hilltop.  One of Dan’s greatest joys was gardening on the 5 acres he owned in Northville.  He often boasted that the gardens where he grew vegetables, flowers, and fruit were bigger than the square footage of his house.  Dan loved his family dearly and cherished the time they spent together.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend he will be missed by those who knew him.

Dan is survived by his children; Brooke Beetler, Lori (Don) Elliott, and Jennifer (Patrick) Garrett; and his grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Luke, Liam, Grace, Kate, and Gabe.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sybil Beetler, his son Douglas Beetler, and his siblings Robert Beetler, Lois Gorman, Ralph Beetler, and Stan Beetler.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.   Private family services will be held. Mr. Beetler will be laid to rest with his wife at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
