Carolyn E. Toyer, age 90, of Northville, passed away March 22, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Max and Wanda (nee Leszczynski) Wosinski. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Joseph Wosinski, Helene Holman, and Max Weston. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Carole, as she was known by those she loved, completed her undergraduate degree and master’s degree at Wayne State University. She was a dedicated teacher for many years, teaching music to elementary students in Detroit.
Carole was very giving and thoughtful. She enjoyed being outdoors and liked to go hiking and fly fishing. Every summer she would take her cat to her home in Cook City, Montana which was 3 miles from Yellowstone National Park. She also was able to travel frequently to Florida to enjoy the sunshine.
Carole was a racehorse owner/investor of well-known horses at Northville Downs; her horses were Radio Star, Richey Rich, and Forget Me Not. She loved the excitement of racing but also absolutely adored the horses and made sure they were well cared for after the retirement.
Carole gave to many charities throughout her life and if you wish to give in memory of Carole the family asks that you give to a charity near and dear to your heart.
