Beverly J. Ipson, age 74 of Plymouth, passed away on November 18, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of John V. and Vivian (Castetter) Corn. She graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana; class of 1967. A gifted student, she continued her education at Ball State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree and began working on her master’s degree. Beverly was united in marriage to Allan L. Ipson on May 5, 1980; dedicated to their love for over 43 years.
Beverly was an English teacher in Indiana. After her marriage to Allan, she chose to devote her time and talents teaching bible study through different parishes. Beverly was a dedicated member of Miles Christi Religious Order for 24 years.
Beverly was a remarkable woman who dedicated most of her time to studying, reading, and teaching. Education held immense importance in her life, as she always sought to expand her knowledge. With her exceptional memory and attentive listening skills, she was able to engage in meaningful conversations and forge deep friendships. Beverly found solace and joy in gardening, finding beauty in the vibrant colors of flowers. She had a fondness for animals, particularly birds, and found fascination in dog and horse shows. Alongside her husband, she enjoyed the serenity of hiking and had an appreciation for all genres of music.
Over time, Beverly developed a strong passion for the Michigan State Spartans, becoming an avid fan who even watched pre-game shows to learn about the players. To keep her mind active, she diligently maintained daily journal entries, played word games, and indulged in reading. Beverly was known for her impeccable sense of style, always adorning herself with a scarf that added a touch of elegance to her appearance. Above all, she was a generous, articulate, and loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend.
Beverly is survived by her husband Allan L. Ipson; her sister Patti (Steve) Ellis; her nephew Brian (Tena) Ellis; her great nephew Merrick Ellis; and her goddaughter, Marguerite Newman. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Miles Christi Family Center, 25300 Johns Road, South Lyon. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 1390 North Freer Road, Chelsea, MI 48118.
