Beverly June Dodd

Beverly J Dodd, age 92, passed away on June 21, 2020 after a long, difficult bout with dementia. Beverly lived many years in Redford Township with her first husband, Paul Smetana (deceased), and is survived by her son Gary Smetana, his wife Barbara and daughter Gail Smetana Marocco. She was also loved by her granddaughter Megan Smetana Roedder, her husband Garrett and their four children Emma, Baylee, Kendal and Abel. Also loved by her grandson, Kadyn Smetana and his wife Katelyn. Also, much love and comfort from the Smetana nieces and nephews, Linda, Ronnie, Jen, Abby, Ken, Barbs, Bethey and Andy.

Later in life, Beverly married Henry Dodd (deceased) of Redford. She had a step-family and is survived by grandchildren Lenny Dodd, wife Suzanna, Jeff Dodd, wife Bridget, and Lesa Dodd. Also, four great grandchildren and a loving daughter in law Barbie Hampton, who resides in CA but has always sweetly kept in touch.

Beverly was a great cook and is remembered for her huge Thanksgiving dinners, the best ever! She also made incredible Russian Tea Cakes (snowballs) at Christmas. She made dozens every year and got cleaned out in one day! She was also an avid gardener, with roses being her specialty. She loved all animals, especially her dog Angel.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 10am until 11am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville MI. The funeral service will be at 11am, officiated by Pastor Wayne Kurtycz from Northridge Church. She will be laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Best Friends Animal Society , 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-5000.
