Betty Ann Sicilia

Betty Ann Sicilia, age 88, of Livonia, passed away January 20, 2019. She was born on December 30, 1930 in Highland Park, Michigan; daughter of Settimio and Antionette (nee Scudiere) Salci.  Betty graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit, class of 1947.  She was united in marriage to Luigi Sicilia on June 17, 1950; lovingly devoted to each other for over 57 years until his death in 2007.

She began working at the Railroad in 1965 retiring 30 years later as an Executive Secretary. Betty enjoyed cooking, reading and crossword puzzles. She was an outstanding artist and a talented singer who loved singing with her church choir and the Belle Tones in The Villages, Florida. An actress, Betty performed in many stage plays. She was a life member of the Italian American Club and a member of the Red Hats Society. Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Tony) DiPaolo and Annette (Mike) Sivori; her daughter-in-law Sandy Sicilia; her sister Joann Makowski; her grandchildren, Louis (Nikki) Sicilia, Angela (Bill) Anders, Thomas (Jackie) Sicilia, Elizabeth Jensen, Samuel (Emily) Sicilia, Vikki (Wess) Boyde, Kelly (Dave) Hawk, Michele (Justin) Mannooch, Allie (Marc) Terrell, Anthony (Alex) DiPaolo, Cameron Sicilia, Jeff (Jessica) Swanson, and Brandon Swanson; and her great grandchildren, Nico, Aidan, William, Shane, Madison, Mia, Dominic, Connor, Nolan, Caleb, Emma, Ryan, Sadie, Andrew, Bridget, Ashley, Olivia, and Elliot with 2 more on the way. Also loved by her nieces, nephews, and her beloved Peekapoo, Rusty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luigi Sicilia, and her son Samuel Sicilia.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11am, with a time of gathering beginning at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service.
