Betty J. Baber

Age 90, of Northville, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021. She was born on February 16, 1931 in Woodstock Township, Michigan; daughter of Clifford and Clara (neé Hill) Willett. Betty was united in marriage to Robert Baber on August 16, 1947; committed to their love for over 59 years until his death in 2006.

Betty loved cooking and decorating during the holidays. She baked amazing pies and created wonderful dinners for the family. Betty was known for her apple pie but pumpkin pies were her favorite.  She was also known to make delicious homemade noodles, something she passed onto her daughters. Betty enjoyed canning in the summer with her mother and was taught how to crochet by her mother. She had a crocheting gift; Betty made her own designs and patterns when using her talent. She liked going on vacations with her husband with friends from the Northville VFW Post 4012 where she was a Life Member. Betty also enjoyed traveling to visit her family, especially her annual trip to visit her daughters up north. She was a great babysitter for her grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her children, Cathy (David) Luedtke, Bob “Junior” Baber, Karen (Mike) Ratliff, and Debbie (Rick) Tarrow; her siblings Sonny Willett and Barb (Sherman) Napier; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 5 brothers and sisters.

A private family memorial was held. She will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
