Bernice W. Rackov

Age 103, of Fowlerville, passed away September 9, 2022. She was born on October 4, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Julian and Anna
(Kopsyckowski) Wysocki. She was united in marriage to Paul Rackov on February 2, 1982; they spent 13 loving years devoted to one another until his death in 1995.

Bernice always kept moving and stayed busy. During World War II she worked in various factories as a Rosie the Riveter. She also worked as a waitress in a local restaurant and for Montgomery Ward. She retired from the Northville State Hospital in 1978 where she worked as a custodian for many years.

Bernice loved flowers and enjoyed maintaining her big, beautiful yard. She liked going to Kensington Metro Park with her family and being with her loving dog Skippy. Her fun family sing-alongs included most of Elvis Presley’s greatest hits; her favorites were Blue Hawaii and Love Me Tender. Just last Sunday she spent the day with her family sharing memories and singing.

Bernice was very interesting, she enjoyed sharing stories from her 103 years with anyone who wanted to listen. She remembered very intricate details about her life which amazed her family and friends.
