Anne C. Crampton
Age 80, longtime resident of Northville, passed away December 9, 2022. She was born on September 23, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Paul and Lucille (Quinn) Harper. She graduated from St. Mary’s of Redford High School; Class of 1960. Following high school, she continued her education at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Anne was united in marriage to John G. “Jack” Crampton on August 20, 1965; they spent 30 years devoted to one another until his death on April 22, 1996.
After college Anne went to work for Michigan Bell as a Sales Rep. When she began having children, she left the workforce to focus on her family. Being a mom and caring for her children was the job Anne truly loved the most. A devoted mother, she made sure her children had an amazing childhood. In the 1980’s as her children were getting older, Anne went back to work for AT&T, in the Livonia Mall and Birmingham locations, ultimately retiring in 1996.
Anne's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. Throughout the years she cherished Sunday dinners, which started with a game of bridge and dinner - always with linen napkins, Waterford crystal and fine china – followed. She loved hosting the holidays and celebrating special occasions. Anne made sure the holidays were always festive with a sweater, earrings, and socks to match the day. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. As a resident of Allen Terrace in Northville, Anne took advantage of all the great things living there had to offer. She enjoyed playing bingo, Wii Bowling, playing cards, and chatting with friends in the lobby. She also enjoyed watching old game shows. Anne had a sarcastic sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend; she will be missed by all who loved her.
Anne is survived by her loving children, John (Kelly) Crampton, Kevin (Reneé) Crampton, and Rebecca (Keith) Peplinski; her grandchildren, Charlie, Nora, Gerard, Lucy, Elena, and Griffin; her nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Terry Harper, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lewis and Joan Owens and her niece Jennifer Lemke.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with a Time of Gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville. Mrs. Crampton will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
