Andrew A. Romanoff

Andrew A. Romanoff, age 90, of Westland, passed away March 30, 2025. He was born October 14, 1934; son of Peter and Mary (Wloroniuk) Romanoff. Andy, as known to his family and friends, graduated from Chadsey High School, class of 1953. He continued his education at Wayne State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the end of the Korean War.

Andy began his career with Ford Motor Company in 1956, working in the Rouge Office Building, where he played a key role in overseeing manufacturing operations. After more than 40 years of dedication, he retired in 1996 as an Emission Programs Analyst, Environmental and Safety Engineering Staff, Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn.

Andy cherished the lifelong friendships he maintained with his high school friends. Sharing a mutual interest in the stock market, they formed a stock club together. His passion for investing not only strengthened their bond but also allowed him to develop a sharp eye for successful investments.

Andrew had a deep passion for sports from a young age. In high school, he played Varsity basketball and later joined the Ford League baseball team. Andrew also played in different golf leagues throughout his years. A dedicated Detroit Lions fan, he held season tickets for many years. His sisters doted on him, always making sure he was well cared for. He loved attending their holiday parties, knowing they would bring the entire family together. Andrew had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and valued every moment spent with them.

Andy is survived by his sisters, Olga Stott and Adela (George) Fomin; his nieces, Stephanie Nelson and Maria (Michael) Simonte; and his nephew, George (Amy Marie) Fomin, Jr. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Sid Stott.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Andrew will be laid to rest near his parents at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral, 3810 Gilbert Street, Detroit, Michigan 48210. On the memo line of the donation, please write “In Memory of Andrew Romanoff”.
