Alice Mae Raymor

Age 77, a lifetime resident of Salem, passed away November 27, 2020.  She was born on January 15, 1943 in Northville, Michigan; daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (Griswold) Richmond.  Alice was united in marriage to Gerald K. Raymor on April 9, 1960, they spent 51 loving years devoted to one another until his death on July 24, 2011.

Alice was a playground supervisor for Salem Elementary, but her most important career was being the family matriarch. Alice was an excellent cook and baker. She made the best cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. Once the smell of the fresh baked bread hit the neighborhood everyone would be knocking at her door. Alice kept her mind active by completing word search and crossword puzzles. She was incredibly lucky when it came to scratch off tickets. Alice enjoyed crocheting and watching game shows. She adored her furry companions and spoiled her yorkie terriers. Alice loved having fun and was a proud water ball champion, competing with Salem Township Fire Fighters against other fire departments for many years. She was a devoted member of the Salem Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Alice was a caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Alice is survived by her children, Gerald (Debbie Piesz) Raymor II, Russell (Margaret) Raymor, Bonnie Raymor, and Robert (Michelle) Raymor; her siblings, Roy (Dawn) Richmond, Shirley (Robert) McLaughlin, and Patricia (Eldon) Raymor; her grandchildren, Carrie Cottingham, April Chatfield, Gerald K. Raymor III, Charlie Raymor, Bruce Raymor, Stephen Bratka, Megan (Alex) Rachala, Angela (Patrick) Hawkins, and Lindsey McGerry; and her great grandchildren, Cara, Caden, Alexandria, Haliegh, Clara, A.J., Aria, and Leeland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant daughter Allison Ann Raymor, and her siblings, Raymond Richmond, Marcia Pratt, and Ralph Richmond.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 2-8pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 at 2pm, instate at 1pm at Salem Bible Church, 9481 West Six Mile Road, Northville. Alice will be laid to rest at Salem Walker Cemetery in Salem Township.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to charity of the giver’s choice.
