Joseph Dunnabeck, 96, of Northville, passed to eternal life October 15, 2012 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Detroit on May 20, 1916 to Joseph F. and Nellie Carbery Dunnabeck, he graduated Cass Tech High School in 1935 and went to work at American Standard Industrial Division for 40 years, retiring in 1975 as Maintenance Supervisor. In 1942, he married Mary E. Holian who preceded him in death in 1972. He was a Northville resident since 1952 and an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church since then. He was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary daily. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an usher and extraordinary minister. In 1975, he married Lillian Krezel who preceded him in death in 2011. In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by son, Thomas Dunnabeck; son-in-law, Bruce White; granddaughter, Kristina Hooker; brother, Edward Dunnabeck; sister, Helen Alband; and close brother-in-law, Thomas Holian. Left to cherish his memory are three children, Joseph (Karen) Dunnabeck, Mary Jo (John) Hooker, and Nancy White; daughter-in-law, Patsy Dunnabeck; eleven grandchildren, Laura Chichester, Joseph E. Dunnabeck, Lisa Dattilio, Sherri (Mitch) Crossley, Janet Dunnabeck, Patti Green, Donna (Bernie) Brosnan, Tim Hooker, Colleen White, Shawn White, and Devin White; 13 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; dear sister-in-law, Janet Holian; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends in Florida and Michigan. The visitation will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service. Mr. Dunnabeck will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Detroit.
