Age 82, of longtime resident of Northville, passed away October 1, 2012. She was born March 17, 1930 in West Brownsville, Pennsylvania; daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee Gavelic) Bailey. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Kelly on June 21, 1969; and they spent 43 loving years together. Polly, who had a Master's Degree in Education from Penn State, was a 6th grade teacher with Wyandotte Schools for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Northville Garden Club. Polly was a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews, who truly adored spending time with her; she was also a loyal friend and good neighbor to many. She was a gourmet cook and wonderful hostess. Polly was very creative and everything she did was presented beautifully; including floral centerpieces, often using flowers from her own garden and delicious desserts she made. She was a world traveler; but especially loved the Greek Isles. Following retirement, she and her husband spent their winters in Arizona staying warm. Polly also enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard A. Kelly; her brother, Vince (Audrey) Bailey; her brother and sisters-in-law, Betty (Don) Christiansen, Mary (Bob) Walker, Pat (Jane) Kelly, and Jean (Tom) Troxell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Bob Kelly. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10 a.m., with a time of gathering beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Northville Garden Club, 19592 Northridge Dr., Northville, MI 48167 or the charity of the givers choice.
