Age 86, of Livonia, passed away September 24, 2012. She was born August 16, 1926 in Alexanderfeld, Germany; daughter of Paul and Maria (nee Bdnarczyk) Heinrich. She was united in marriage to Alfred Dorfstatter on February 27, 1954; they spent 58 devoted years together. Helene was a very wise and strong woman. She was a noble person who knew her priorities and always put her family first. She was a talented and creative artist; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, and writing. She was a wonderful cook. Helene was a caring, nurturing and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Helene is survived by her husband Alfred; her children, Bernice (Gary) VanBuhler and Walter (Lynn) Dorfstatter; her grandchildren, Eric, Evan, Ashley, and Alana; and her niece Romy (Wilhelm) Schicho. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Else Schweighofer. The visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4-8pm with a Scripture Service at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:30am, she will be instate at 10am at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 Ten Mile Road, Novi. Monsignor John Kasza will officiate the service. Helene will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
