South Lyon, MI - Iris Hazel Hogan Bonecutter, 98, widow of the later Earl Vernon Bonecutter, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Cottingham Hospice House, Seneca, SC. Born in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cleveland, Sr. and Mary Lee Boston Hogan, and was retired as a home health nurse. She worked in a bomber plant in Michigan during WWII, and was a past president of the Rebekahs in MI. Mrs. Bonecutter was a member of the Ann Arbor First Baptist Church of MI, and attended Hepsibah Baptist Church, Seneca. Survivors include daughter Iris Wilson of Seneca; brothers Earl, Melvin, and Alvin Hogan; sisters Edwina Schwall, Neita Neabeck, and Ruth Reeves; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons Wayne Vernon and Charles Kerry Bonecutter; brothers Charles Cleveland, Jr., Luther, and Bill Hogan. Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the South Lyon Cemetery, MI with visitation one hour prior to the service at Casterline Funeral Home, South Lyon, MI. The family will receive friends, 2 -4 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Sandifer Funeral Home of Westminster, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
