Gladys Suzannah Smith

Gladys S. Smith (nee Myers) Age 94, a longtime resident of Livonia, passed away December 12, 2012. She was born August 1, 1918 in Hillsdale, Michigan; daughter of Frank and Chloe (nee Baxter) Myers. She was united in marriage to William B. Smith on January 12, 1940; they spent over 63 loving years together until his death in 2003. Gladys graduated from Northville High School, class of 1936. She was a very devoted homemaker. She loved to read and enjoyed listening to music. She was an excellent cook who also liked to bake and decorate cakes. Gladys was a doting grandmother and great grandmother. Family was her everything. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene (Donald) Gray of Leslie and Pamela (Scott) Lodge of Livonia; her grandchildren, Randall Hart of CA, Michele (Dr. Stephen) Ford of VA, and Melissa (Dr. Shane) Weatherwax of NE; and her great-grandchildren, Travis, Jacob, and Laura Ford, and Trinity, Sage, Chloe, and Ryann Weatherwax. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 9 siblings. A private burial was held at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
