Thomas A. Shifflet

Thomas A. Shifflet, age 72, of Davenport, Florida, went to be with the Lord the evening of March 1, 2013. He was born August 12, 1940 in Marion, Ohio to John and Margaret Shifflet. Tom, as he was known to his family and friends, was a computer programmer network specialist. He worked and raised his family in Canton, Michigan. He later retired and moved to sunny Florida with his loving wife Suzanne Shifflet. He was a member of the Polo Park East Golf Club and served for several years as the Treasurer for the Polo Park East Men's Golf Association. Tom was a loving father to Brenda (Mike) Walsh and Julia Gomez; and step-father to Brooke Cashwell and Darcie Cashwell. He was also the proud grandfather of Melissa, Matthew, Halie, Justin, Kylie, Noah, and Jacob; and great grandfather of Big Dom, Colin, Little Dom, Austin, and Cameron. He was the beloved brother of Glen (Barbara) Shifflet, Francis (Carol) Shifflet, and Jim (Fairy) Shifflet; and brother-in-law of Barbara Shifflet. Along with his beloved wife, children, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; he leaves behind a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends whom he cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Bob Shifflet; and his grandson Noah Cashwell. The visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 11 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Tom will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
