Richard E. Hauser Age 82, of Novi, passed away March 29, 2013. He was born January 21, 1931 in Bloomington, Illinois; son of Albert and Mabel (Youngblood) Hauser. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and was an accountant with General Motors for 28 years. Dick proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he married the love of his life Patricia A. Grayheck on May 18, 1956; they were married for 53 years until her death in 2009. They lived in various cities and England before making Northville their home in 1983. Dick was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wednesday morning Men's club. He loved sports especially baseball because of his semi-pro career. He also enjoyed playing golf, billiards, and shuffle board. He was a member of the Hot Stove League at Fox Run. Dick is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Denise) Hauser, Polly (David) White, Jan (Loretta) Hauser, and Celia (Bruce) Contratto; his sisters Helen (Gene) Kinsella and June Rustemeyer; and his grandchildren, Joe Contratto, Ana Hauser, Clair Hauser, Ann Voelz, Trevor Vestey, Jeffrey Vestey, and Kurtis Vestey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother Stan Hauser, and his sister Marge Olsen. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at the First United Methodist Church of Northville. Rev. Dr. Steven J. Buck will officiate the service.
